Good morning,

I have a question regarding the "Spacing Rules" in the Technology settings. Up until now I only made PCB designs for a two layer board. For this I used the values stated in "Eurocircuits - PCB Design Classification Overview" (spacing values of 0.15 mm), because we order from them for testing purposes. I never got any problems with it because clearances were spot on.

For a new design I use a four layer board with the same "Spacing Rules" that I stated above. They "Spacing Rules" are just fine for the top and bottom layers. Only for the two inner layers I need a small adjustment in the values. Instead of some 0.15 mm I need 0.20 mm.

So my question is: Is it possible to define a separate "Spacing Rules" for the inner layers?

I already tried to search on the forum, but I did not get a relative response IMHO to "multi layers board" (match any of the words).
My version: 10.0 Build 7249

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Remco

SETUP > TECHNOLOGY and under the Spacing Rules section, select "Match Pair Level".
Then set up a rule as follows:

Item 1
Attribute <Net Class Name>
Match: *

Item 2
Attribute <Net Class Name>
Match: *

On Layers
Side: Inner

Then just enter your required creepage in the table.

What copper thickness is required for inner layers, and for outer layers?

Thank you very much for the easy explanation. You have answered my question :).
