Hi,
I have 3 pad styles for vias in my technology.
I am already using all three styles for vias on signals in the design.
Now I want to add some vias to connect the ground planes on top and bottom.
So I add a free pad and add it to net GND.
But I cannot change the style of this new via. Only the style, which was used when placing the via is availiable.
Why can't I change the style to any of the other via styles availiable in the technology?
What am I missing?
Thanks,
Steve

My guess would be that this has something to do with the "For use by" section in the pad style definition within the technology.
When you are changing the style of a via, the drop down list for available styles only shows pad styles that have the "Vias" checkbox enabled in the "For use by" section of the pad definition, for example.

Ok, at least I have found one of my mistakes:
I had to insert a via instead of inserting a free pad.

But the basic question remains:
Why can't I change the style of a free pad to the style of the vias in the technology.
