News & Press
Pulsonix news and press releases.
For many years the printed circuit board (PCB) development cycle has been a traditional process; the design has been created in CAD and sent to a board ‘house’ to be manufactured. With the LPKF prototyping machines, printed circuit boards can be made on the back of the CAD system with no other external processes involved.
With a technology agreement between WestDev Ltd, the writers or the Pulsonix product based in the UK, and LPKF based in Germany, the manufacturing process of PCBs has been brought into the design lab.
The Pulsonix PCB design product interfaces directly with the LPKF prototype machines allowing PCBs to be made on-site. Unlike conventional processes, this technology is environmentally friendly with no chemicals involved. The LPKF machine mills the copper cladding to produce the board. The end result is a high quality PCB ready to be populated within hours of the final design rules checking in the Pulsonix PCB system. With the latest milling technology and the new Pulsonix PCB system prototype PCBs are created in-house and can be put through an iterative process of design and test before running production volumes. Smart functionality within Pulsonix enables design data to be managed before the .gbx file arrives in the LPKF front-end software for processing.
Pulsonix Overview
Introduced in 2001, Pulsonix EDA software has made its mark to set the standard for high-performance Schematic design capture, Simulation, PCB layout and autorouting. Developed by a dedicated in-house team, each release demonstrates how the fast-growing Pulsonix product is introducing key features to win new business and offer users flexible and highly compatible software that meets the demands of PCB design today.
