Pulsonix Announces Another Leap In Technology
- Active-X scripting language support
- MCAD STEP format interface
- Advanced technology support for embedded component technology (ECT)
- New advanced constraint rules
- Macros feature added
- New ‘base’ Autorouter
Tewkesbury, UK – Oct 5 2010 – Westdev Ltd. – the PCB EDA company delivering technology-leading PCB design solutions today announced the latest release of Pulsonix, version 7.0. Due out in Q4 2010, this release promises to be another leap in the technology available for Pulsonix users.
“Westdev is a dynamic technology driven company and as such, is working with leading-edge manufacturers to push into future fields” said Bob Williams, Marketing Director at Westdev. “With the announcement of Version 7, we are very excited to be in close partnership with the market leaders in manufacturing enabling these new Pulsonix technologies to enter the market at conception for maximum impact”.
Major New Features Overview
Active-X Scripting Language Support – users can benefit from creating and running their own programs from in the Pulsonix environment using the Active-X script host. This opens up access to data within Pulsonix and allows fully customised outputs to be created.
MCAD STEP format export – with many MACAD systems adopting the STEP format, the Pulsonix PCB design editor now has a bi-directional interface. The allows users to create complex board outlines in their mechanical system and pass this into Pulsonix. Critical component placement can also be included in this. Once all component placement has been performed, the design can be written out to the STEP format for importing into the mechanical system, thus providing the full circle of design.
Advanced Technology Support – with embedded and micro-via technology becoming more mainstream and more designers adopting it, Pulsonix 7.0 has introduced additional support for micro-via and laser drilled vias. Stacked laser-drilled vias have the ability to include ‘start’ and ‘stop’ pads to restrict the laser drill depth. All outputs are processed separately as per their manufacturing requirements.
Advanced constraint rules – the Pulsonix constraint rules set has been expanded to provide users with additional rules and further control over their designs.
Macros – introduced to enable users to create and save repetitive tasks across designs. A time-saving feature which maximises through-put of data in the Pulsonix product.
New ‘base’ Autorouter – introduced to all product variants, the new base autorouter further adds value to an already outstanding price-performance product.
