What revision of IPC-2581 does Pulsonix output data in (e.g. Original, RevA, RevB)?

Hi James,

Thank you for this information. It has been logged on our system to be considered for a later release.

At present we have only one PCB fabricator who indicates that they accept IPC-2581. The main purpose I have for this output is to import it into the free version of Mentor Graphics Hyperlynx for some extra DfM checks on a small number of boards.

I note this morning that Ucamco are proposing adding two new Gerber layers to describe component assembly data for the top and bottom sides of a board in the next version of Gerber: Gerber X3.

Hi,

Pulsonix currently only supports IPC-2581A. We are looking into the possibility of adding a enhanced function to export IPC-2581B in a later release.

The inference is in this line "More information about the above can found in the IPC document IPC-2581B.pdf"

Well, unfortunately I couldn't find mention of Rev B in the help. Besides generated xml file doesn't contain revision definition in its header so I'm not sure what version of IPC-2581 is used by Pulsonix export.

This is the second line of exported file:
<IPC-2581 xmlns="http://webstds.ipc.org/2581" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">

But as I understand for Rev B it should be:
<IPC-2581 revision="B" xmlns="http://webstds.ipc.org/2581" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">

Please refer to Help - Export IPC-2581, which explains the output mechanism and references the IPC-2581 Rev B.
