Pulsonix includes a ‘Base’ Autorouter with some variants of its product range. This uses a predominantly 45-degree angle routing methodology and so produces eye pleasing results more aligned with a hand routed design rather than a mechanical autorouted result.

Locating these options

Available from: Tools menu > Auto Router > Router Options selection

’Base’ Autorouter

The base Autorouter allows you to route the whole design, or just selected net classes.

  • Auto Router - The Auto Router dialog will be displayed enabling you to route all unfinished connections in the design, or to choose specific net classes to route. You can select the different types of routing pass and the number of passes that you want to help the router attain 100%. You can specify if you want to keep existing routing and if you want the new tracks to be fixed against further changes.
  • Browse Nets - This dialog allows you to choose which nets should be autorouted. You can also use the Selection Filter to choose a Net Class to autoroute.
  • Selected Nets - With a net or multiple nets selected in the design, these will be autorouted using the Selected Nets option.

External Autorouters

Pulsonix also supports external autorouters through its optional interfaces. Support is available for:

  • Specctra
  • Route Editor
  • Electra
  • Other routers may be supported through the .dsn file format. Please check with our support team if this is required.
