Using this option
There are two ways of changing the costs that the Router uses.
- Proportional Cost With this method you supply a multiplier to apply to the built in costs. So to make the cost (for example) of adding a via twice as much as it normally is you would supply a factor of 2.0 . If you are going to change the costs this is the recommended way.
- Specified Cost With this method you make the cost one of a set of built values Forbidden, High, Medium, Low or Free. You select the value from a drop down list of the values.
You choose which way of changing the cost by selecting the appropriate radio button. Before you can change a specific type of cost you must check that type.
Types of Cost
- Anti Bias This is cost of the router being able to route against the bias of layer.

- Via This is the cost of the router adding a via.
- Off Grid This is the cost of the router adding tracks or vias which are off the specified grids.
- SMD Off Centre Exit This is the cost of allowing the router to not exit an SMD pad from the centre.
- SMD Side Exit This is the cost of allowing the router to enter a pad on the long side.
- Via-Track Conflict This is the cost of adding a conflict of a via being too close to a track.
