This dialog is used to modify the name of the Schematics Symbol, PCB Footprint or Documentation Symbols currently being created.

The Symbol Name is the name the symbol is known by when saved in a library. Initially, a symbol is given a default system generated name.

Locating this option

Available from: Edit menu > Symbol Properties option

Using the Symbol Properties Dialog

Enter the new symbol name, and click OK to change the name.

Embedded Component

Check this option to allow the component to be placed on inner layers (assuming an appropriately defined layer stack).

Mirrored

Use the dropdown list to define the mirror state when adding this footprint to a PCB design.

The normal state is Mirror Undefined - its mirror state is determined elsewhere. Not Mirrored means the footprint will not be mirrored, Mirrored means it will be mirrored.

Designed Mirrored

If this box is checked, the orientation of the footprint, as defined in the editor, is the mirrored state. It is likely that you will also want to set the Mirrored state as described above.

The normal state is to leave this box unchecked.

Documentation Symbols

When creating a Documentation Symbol, you can see or alter the type of the symbol on the dialog:
