EDWin databases in the following formats can be opened in Pulsonix:
- EDWin version 1.2 in the Ascii Database EPA format.
Exporting Ascii Databases from EDWin.
EDWin databases hold both the PCB and schematic designs.
- Run the EDWin program.
- From the File menu select Open Database
- Open the database that you want to translate
- From the File menu select Database ASCII Save. Select the filename that you want to save to in the file browser.
Reading EPA files into Pulsonix
From the File menu, select Open. Select the EDWin .EPA ASCII database. On import, this will create both PCB and schematic designs.
Converting EDWin libraries to Pulsonix libraries
- Run the EDWin program.
- From the File menu select New Database
- Select Libraries from the top Menu Bar
- This will open the Library Editor
- From the File menu select Load Symbols
- This will open the Load Symbol dialog
- Select the library that you to take symbols from
- Select each symbol that you want to transfer and select the Load button
- After selecting all the symbols that you want, close the dialog
- From the File menu repeat the above for Load Packages and Load Parts
- You should now have all the library items that you need
- Activate the main EDWin application
- From the File menu select Save Database. Select the filename that you want for the database in the file browser.
- From the File menu select Database ASCII Save. Select the filename that you want to save to in the file browser.
In Pulsonix use the Library Manager to read in the Library EPA file. You will need to read the file into each of the library types.
Alternatively you use Data Transfer Wizard to read in the EDWin projects and libraries.
