Technology files are a way of predefining sets of styles and rules. They are an efficient way of starting designs based on known criteria from previous designs or rule sets.
You can also create Partial Technology Files containing a sub set of elements. These files can be used to add the elements to existing designs for use in a particular technology, or they can be used to copy specific elements from one design to another.
A default set of technology files have been supplied with the product which can be edited and saved to match your own requirements.
Technology files exist for PCB and Schematic designs, and for Parts library entries. Part technology files allow you to setup an environment for when working with Parts library data.
A new technology file can be created by using the Save Technology command when editing an existing design or may be created from scratch using the New command. Once created, a technology file can be opened for editing by using the Open command.
