Use to bypass the “intelligent” system (F7) used for regular editing of a component’s Spice value. This option allows you to type in any text string for the value.
For example, use it to enter a device parameter expression for a resistor value. e.g. “{res}“. This could then be used in parameter stepping using Multi-Step Analysis.

Command: Edit Spice Value Text
How To Enter Spice Value Text
Select the required component(s) and press Shift + F7. The following dialog will be displayed:
Type in the required expression for the Spice value.
Note: If you subsequently use F7 on the component after setting up the expression, the value will revert to the correct type for that device. e.g. a numerical value for a resistor.
