How To Renumber Pins
Renumber Pins is available from the Utilities menu when editing symbols. The command brings up the Renumber Pins dialog. You must specify the first number you will use in the renumber sequence (the default is 1). Click on OK to begin renumbering pins.
Each time you select a pin, the current pin number in the sequence is assigned to that pin, and the sequence number is incremented. So, for example, if you began the renumber sequence a 3, the first pin you select will be numbered 3 and the sequence number incremented to 4 ready to select the next pin.
It is possible to get into the situation where more than one pin has the same sequence number. This situation must be rectified before the symbol can be saved to a library.
You might want to consider using Auto Renumber Pins which provides an automatic way to ensure the pins are legally numbered, and can be numbered according to their physical location.
