Most of these commands are used to report information from an error marker, for example, Annotation, Code etc. They are used when using the List Of Errors command on a design. There is also a command to add your own error marker into the design, and a command to delete an error marker from the design.
Using the dialog
These commands use the standard Edit Value command dialog. The dialog will allow you to make selections using the Value: field for the commands required.
Add Error Marker
This command is not used to write anything to the report. It can be used at any time to add your own User Defined Error markers of type “UDE” into the design, for example to mark out of date parts and symbols. Edit the command to define its annotation text and whether it is Locked or a Warning. The annotation text can be a multi-line text string or can be defined by the contents of a named variable at runtime. The position and layer will be taken from the current item in the report, or if the current item is the design itself or does not have a position, it will appear at the bottom left corner of the design extents on the Through Board layer.
Annotation
This is the additional information for an error marker that is shown in the Properties dialog.
Notes
This is the Notes field which can be entered in the Properties dialog.
Code
The code text for the error, e.g. “P-P” is a Pad to Pad error.
Delete Error Marker
This command is not used to write anything to the report. Use it to remove the error marker from the design.
Error Description
Reports the short description of the error. This is the same as you get in the errors report when running DRC or ERC.
Gap / Required Space
The Gap is the distance that exists between the items. Required Space is the actual required spacing between the items from the technology rules. Note that may include some extra spacings e.g. Guard Spacing.
Item / Second Item
Use Item to report the type of item that the error is for. Some error markers represent errors between two items. In this case, use Second Item to report the type of the other item that the error is between.
Item Position / Second Item Position
Use these commands to report the actual positions where the items are in error.
Is Locked
Use this command to check if the current error marker is locked. Note: can also be used within a List of Components command to see if a component is locked.
Type
Description of the type of error, e.g. “Pad To Pad”.
