These field commands are used to report information from a via in the design, for example, Is Micro Via, From Layer, To Layer etc. They are used when using the List Of Vias command on a PCB design. Some of the commands can also be used on a layer span.

Using the dialog

These commands use the standard Edit Value command dialog. The dialog will allow you to make selections using the Value: field for the commands required.

Drill Position

Use this command to output the actual drill hole position of the via.

From Layer

The name of the first layer of the layer span used for the via.

From Layer Number

Reports the layer order for the first layer of the layer span used for the via.

Highest Track Layer

The name of the layer of the track that is attached to the via on a layer closest to the top of the board.

Is Blind Or Buried

This reports “true” if the via is not through the whole board.

Is Buried

This reports “true” if the via does not reach the top or bottom sides of the board.

Is Micro Via

This check is used on a via to check if it is between two same facing layers, and therefore intended for micro via use.

Layer Span Name

The name of the layer span used for the via.

List of Layers

Use to report the names of all electrical layers within the layer span used by the via. On a layer use command Via Attached To to report what the via is attached to on the layer, in the same way as reported in the Via Properties dialog.

Lowest Track Layer

The name of the layer of the track that is attached to the via on a layer closest to the bottom of the board.

Net and Net Class

Use these commands to report information about the Net that the via is on.

To Layer

The name of the last layer of the layer span used for the via.

To Layer Number

Reports the layer order for the last layer of the layer span used for the via.

Top Back Drill Span Name

The name of the top Back Drill span used for the via.
