How to use Insert Component Name
- From the Insert menu on the menu bar, select Component Name.
- A {
} placeholder will appear on your cursor. - Using the mouse, move it to desired position and click to finish.
- Using the Change Style option from the context menu while moving the Component Name or after releasing it. This will enable you to define the text style of the name once in the relevant editor.
Component Name as an Attribute
Within a design, the Component Name is in fact an attribute, that is automatically created by Pulsonix and as such may also be added using the general Add Attribute or Add Attribute Position options.
You may wish to add additional Component Name attributes if, for example, you wish one on a Silkscreen layer and one on an Assembly layer. Perhaps these may be different text sizes and different positions (and different layers as well).
