Pulsonix supports and contains the advanced multi-page wizards commonly found in only the most up-to-date Windows based products.
What Are Wizards?
Wizards contain an option or function, which by its very nature, requires a series of ‘events’ or a sequences to produce the final result. For example , this could be used to generate a plot layer containing all the information to fit the plot on the paper, or it could be an import function to automate the Import process where multiple items and input/output folder locations are to be specified.
In a sentence, Wizards automate a process to make it easier to understand and complete.
What Do They Look Like?
The Wizard shown below is an example from the CAM/Plot option and is used to define the characteristics of the plot.
How Do You Use Wizards?
If you do not already know how to use them, they are very easy! Let us talk you through the one above.
The Wizard navigation bar guides you through the sequence of events moving from the top (Start) to the bottom (Finish). Each named process (Name, Process, Size etc.) is a separate page of the Wizard.
The current page of the Wizard is highlighted in a different font, in this example Design Position.
You can move between each of the pages by clicking on the process name or by using the Next and Back buttons at the bottom of the page. When you get to the last process, the Next button at the bottom changes to Finish to indicate that the Wizard is complete.
Help is available in context for each page of the Wizard. You can press the Help button on the dialog or press the F1 key which will also display the relevant help page for the item in context.
Each page contains items of detail to complete as you require. The detail is checked against the rules for the item but is not checked for user errors, such as making the Scale of a design 123 times too large!
