Pulsonix is capable of importing a number of other system’s PCB designs provided they are available in an ASCII format. Pulsonix cannot import formats which are binary in format. Usually, designs are stored by their host system in binary format (as Pulsonix itself does). Most systems have a mechanism for saving or exporting the designs in ASCII format.

Supported Formats

The list of formats supported by Pulsonix is being constantly developed. If you have a format which is not currently supported, please contact our technical support desk to check if the format is being worked on or available.

The current list includes:

How To Import PCB Designs

There are three mechanisms available depending on how many designs you have to import:

  1. The first option is to simply drop the design ASCII file onto Pulsonix. This mechanism will automatically detect the incoming format and display a small confirmation dialog from which to choose a Technology file and start the import.
  2. Use the Open dialog and use the File Of Type to select the file filter to use. Pulsonix is intelligent enough to detect the different formats during import to decide how to import them. The File Of Type filter allows you to sort a list of suitable types by a given file extension.
  3. Use of the Data Transfer Wizard. This mechanism allows multiple file opening with the destination location also defined.
