A schematic profile is used in addition to the technology file to present a starting point for the design. It contains start information such as a drawing blank and other general documentation. It could also be used to contain company or project based information which is mandatory or is required on all schematic sheets which make up a particular design.

Profile items are marked as All Pages At This Level when inserted and so will appear, not only on the first page of the schematic, but on every other page as well.

Items which are available in Profile Files:

  • Origins
  • Documentation Symbols
  • Documentation Shapes
  • Text
  • Text Callouts
  • Bitmaps
  • Attributes
  • Construction Lines

Using Technology Files and Profile Files together:

Any styles which contain technology information which appear in the technology will be matched where it has the same name or the same value. If the Profile has a technology style or value which does not exist, it will add the new style.
