Attribute In Parts Library

The Attribute In Part Library command is used on a Part, Component, Component Group or Associated Part, Part to report the value of a named attribute on the latest part in the library (or Vault).

This can be used for example to mark obsolete parts in the library (or Vault) and then report which parts in a design are obsolete without having to reload all the parts. If the part was added to the design from the vault, it will get the value of the named attribute on the latest version of the part in the vault.

Attribute In Symbol Library

Use on a PCB or Schematic design to get the value of a named attribute from the current Footprint or Schematic symbol in the library. Use within a “List of Symbols” or “List Of Components” in a PCB design and within a “List of Symbols” or “List Of Gates” in a Schematic design.

This can be used to compare an attribute on a symbol in the design with the attribute in the library symbol, and report if they are different.
