Vault - Detach From Vault

The Detach from Vault option will remove the vault reference information from a design or library item that has previously come from the vault.

This allows the item to be subsequently added back into the vault as a new item, rather than as a new version of the original item. It’s name will need to be changed in order to distinguish it from the original vault item.

Command: Detach from Vault

Detach from Vault will only be enabled if the current design is from the vault and when selected will prompt for confirmation that you wish to detach the item from the vault. On Yes, the vault information will be removed from the current design. If No is chosen, the current design is left unchanged.

Note that other vault items referenced within current design are left unchanged, for example, parts within a Schematic or PCB design or a Footprint referenced within a part.

Copy as New Item and Detach from Vault

The Detach from Vault option is similar to the Copy as New Item option available on a vault Copy Out dialog but can be used for an item has already been copied out from the vault.
