Import ECO is used for importing external Schematic design netlists which have been subjected to modifications or Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). These designs will be in an ASCII format and will be a format recognised and supported by Pulsonix.

Using this option

This option will only be available if you originally imported a netlist from one of the supported EDA systems. If you have used Pulsonix Schematics as your ‘entry’ to Pulsonix PCB, this option will be greyed out.

The ECO files for a design created in the Pulsonix Schematic editor will be automatically imported using the Synchronise Designs options rather than this Import ECO option.

Pulsonix automatically knows which source was used to create the PCB design and as such will not allow the Import ECO option to be used in some instances. For example, where the PCB was created without a netlist or if a Pulsonix Schematic design has not been used.

Import Options

For some design types, the option will allow you to import a full Netlist, (in which case it will compare this to the design and make the appropriate changes).

It will also display the ECO File import option to choose from. The way in which you work will depend on your design practice and what you have been provided. Not all systems produce an ECO file, in which case, you will only be able to use a full netlist as the ECO file.
