The Vault must be installed before it can be used within Pulsonix.
The Installation Program
There is a separate installation program - VaultAdminSetup.exe available on the Pulsonix web site. The Vault installation is not part of the standard Pulsonix installation.
Installing the Vault
The installation program is self-contained and once run, will allow you to install the vault database.
Download it from the Pulsonix web site using your Pulsonix Login account and browsing to the Technical | Product Downloads & Updates page, choose Vault Server Setup
Note: Before attempting to install the vault, you will need to refer to the Vault Users Guide for additional information and an administrative password required to install the vault, see below on how to locate this document.
The installation of the vault is done in three stages, these are available on the Vault Setup menu:
- Install the PostgreSQL Server - this is the installation of the database that will contain the Vault
- Create Vault Database - you must create a vault database to use with Pulsonix
- Choose Data Folder - you must choose where Pulsonix will store Vault data
- You must enable the Vault use by ‘switching’ it on through the Options - General dialog and Switch Vault Functionality Off check box.
Once the three stages above have been completed successfully, you must then create your Pulsonix clients (user accounts) from within Pulsonix using the Vault (setup) option on the Setup menu. Choose the Users tab to create your user profile. More information is available for this in the Vault Users Guide, see below.
Full details of installing the Vault database is described in the Vault Users Guide. See below in how to locate this document.
Locating the Vault Users Guide
The Vault Users Guide is already installed for you and can be accessed within Pulsonix from the Help menu, Online Manuals > Vault Users Guide. This will guide you step by step through the full installation process. This guide also instructs you on using the Vault. Once installed, when using the Vault, if you press the F1 key at any point, the Online Help will give you specific information about the option you are currently using.
