Use this to open the footprint used in the PCB design that is associated with the selected Component. You might do this to make subtle changes to the footprint, such as silkscreen positional changes or the addition of a placement area for example.
Use the Reload From Library option on the context menu to reload the footprint back into the design once edited and saved.

How To Edit A Component’s Footprint
While in Select Mode or Edit Mode, select the required component and right click the mouse and use Edit Footprint In Library from the shortcut menu.
The system will look for the footprint with the same name as the footprint the selected component uses in the available footprint libraries. These libraries are defined using the Library Folders facility. If the footprint is found it is read from the library and opened for you to edit. If the footprint is not found you can use the Save Items To Library dialog to save it before editing.
This is just the same as if you used the Library Manager to edit the footprint. The technology file used for the footprint will be the current selected technology file from the library manager PCB footprint dialog.
How To Apply Changes Made To The Footprint
When you have altered the footprint, save it back into the library using Save To Library.
Switch back to the PCB Design window that contains the selected component. Right click the mouse to show the shortcut menu and use the Reload From Library option to load the changed footprint into the design.
Note: All components in the design that use this footprint name will be updated.
You cannot have different versions of the same named footprint within a PCB design.
