How To Change The Text Alignment

Use the following procedure to simply change a text item’s alignment using Change Text Alignment.

  1. First exit any mode you are in to get back into Select Mode or Edit Mode.

  2. Select a text item or attribute and right click the mouse to use the Change Text Alignment option from the shortcut menu.

  3. The following dialog will appear:

  4. The current alignment of the text will be shown. Choose one of the alignment buttons to change to, a description of the chosen alignment is shown to the right of the alignment button grid.

If you are changing multi line text, the alignment refers to the first line of the text, so for example ‘bottom left’ means the origin of the text item is the lower left point of the first line.

  5. Press OK to use the chosen text alignment for the selected item. The text will be moved so that the new alignment point is at the same coordinate as the previous alignment point.
