The Profile File is used in the PCB design editor as a starting point for new PCB Designs.

Generally, the Profile File will contain the board outline, build/manufacturing information, text, drawing blanks and mounting holes. A full list of the contents allowed in the Profile File is shown below.

  • Documentation Symbols
  • Components (such as standard connectors along the edge of the board).

  • Documentation Shapes
  • Mounting Holes

  • Attributes

Using Technology Files and Profile Files together:

Any styles which contain technology information which appear in the technology will be matched where it has the same name or the same value. If the Profile has a technology style or value which does not exist, it will add the new style.
