This Properties option is available on a selected Via. Use it to change the branch point status and name. If a via is a branch point it will have a name and can be used when defining signal paths and differential pairs.

Creating Branch Points
Branch Points can be created either from this dialog, or using Insert Branch Point, or using Change Branch Point
Using The Branch Point Properties Dialog
Select a via (or several) and enter properties. Choose the Branch Point tab and the following dialog is shown:-
If the via is not already a branch point you can make it one by checking the Branch Point control. It will be given the next available branch point name.
If the via is already a branch point you can make it no longer one by unchecking the Branch Point control.
The Name edit control can be used to give the branch point a new unique name.
