EDIF 2.0.0 netlists can be generated by a variety of Schematic based and CAE systems. This netlist format contains enough information regarding PCB footprints and/or Parts as well as connectivity information to construct a netlist complete enough to read into Pulsonix PCB. Pulsonix can read EDIF 2.0.0 as full design information (to create new designs) and as ECO netlists or partial netlists. This format is not used to rebuild graphical Schematics, only PCB designs (parts and nets only).

Using EDIF 2.0.0 Netlists

EDIF 2.0.0 should be generated from host system using the native format (if there is a choice). The netlist must be collated before it can be read into Pulsonix. This means all component references and net names must be resolved first.

The netlist can be read into Pulsonix using the Import Netlist facility.

Back Annotating using EDIF 2.0.0

Pulsonix does not support back annotation to systems which have generated EDIF 2.0.0 format files, unless the native format has been used and not EDIF 2.0.0.

Generating Parts Library Information From EDIF 2.0.0 Format Netlists

EDIF 2.0.0 does not hold the required information to make a Pulsonix format Parts library so this function is not available using EDIF 2.0.0 format files.
