Use the Insert item Triangle shape option when creating three sided closed shapes. These shapes can only be Closed but can be made Open using Properties once released.

Interacting with this option

Items which interact with this option on the context menu are:

Change Layer | Change Style | Filled Shape | Online DRC | Display Clearances

Note: Online DRC and Display Clearances are only available when using shapes on electrical layers, such as the Insert Copper mode.

These items also affect the option and are found on the Options - Interaction dialog.

How To Insert A Triangle

  1. From the Insert menu, select Copper or Shape etc., then Triangle.
  2. Start the Triangle by single clicking the mouse at the start point in the design, hold down and drag the cursor to the finish point of the base line of the Triangle.

The Base Line is normally restricted to 45 degree steps. For other angles, select Free Movement from the context menu.

Once the Base Line is defined, you must place the Vertex. This is normally restricted to right-angle and Isosceles triangles, select Free Movement from the context menu to create an irregular triangle.

How To Insert An Equilateral Triangle

Begin inserting a Triangle. Once you have defined the base line, the context menu, check the Equilateral Triangle option. The Triangle is completed using the length of the base line for the three sides.
